Travel & Stay
Our beautiful wedding location & a variety of places to stay!
This is our most-asked question regarding our wedding—why Georgia, when both Scott and Eva are from Orlando, and currently call Nashville home? We’re glad you asked.
First off, Greensboro just so happens to be the halfway point between Orlando and Nashville—so we see it as a happy medium for everyone involved. ;)
But most importantly: Eva’s grandparents live in Greensboro, at Reynolds Lake Oconee, the residential area where our wedding is located. Reynolds is a deeply special place for the whole Parker family: Memories of sweaty Fourth of Julys spent staring at the sparkling lakefront firework show, countless hours at the Lake Club riding down the waterslide, Thanksgivings spent around a long wooden table enjoying Grandma Cheryl’s unbeatable Southern cuisine.
When we chose Reynolds, we did so with intention: Not only are we inviting each of you into our personal family history, we are also encouraging every wedding guest to experience this special place alongside us. It is our greatest dream that each guest who is able to do so would make an effort to experience the beauty in Greensboro, whether it be by renting a boat to experience the 374 miles of scenic coastline on Lake Oconee, booking a tee time on one of Reynolds’s 8 majestic golf courses, or a morning spent at the spa at the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton Lake Oconee.
Most of all, we want our wedding weekend to feel fun and memorable for everyone. Our greatest hope is that you would head home on April 25, 2027, glad that you got to see a beautiful corner of the world you might not have otherwise.
why Georgia?
Greensboro, GA, is an hour and twenty minutes from Atlanta, and the closest major airport is the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. If you elect not to rent a car, Groome Transportation is a shuttle service that offers a route from Atlanta Airport to Augusta, with a dropoff point in Greensboro near the Holiday Inn Express and Tru by Hilton hotels. To book this service, please use the hyperlink below.
We highly recommend booking at one of the hotels listed below, all of which are no more than 20 minutes from the venue. We have blocked a select number of rooms at each hotel, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you desire access to the golf and lakefront amenities at Reynolds Lake Oconee, you may consider booking a condo or hotel room via Reynolds directly—read more about this here. Additionally, the Greensboro area is known for its large amount of Airbnbs and VRBOs that provide access to the natural beauty of the area. If you are traveling with a large group and would prefer not to stay in a hotel, this would be your best option.
Regardless of how you get there or where you decide to stay, we can’t wait for you to experience the splendor of Lake Oconee alongside us! Feel free to reach out with any questions.
